A Fun New Way To Build In Minecraft_ 'Chunk Houses'

By Alex Johnson | January 01, 0001

A few days ago, on the r/minecraft HUC99 subreddit, redditor Spelunkding shared pictures of what they called a “chunk house.” Since then, chunk houses have been popping up all over the place. In case you’re unaware, chunks in Minecraft are the building blocks of the world. Each world’s surface is HUC99 composed of an infinite number of chunks, and one chunk n98 equates to an area of 16*16 blocks. Above, you can see how the game identifies chunks—each one gets its own number, basically. In the example, we’re standing on one corner of the -3rd, -71st chunk in a fresh map. So, a chunk house has you build on a 16-by-16 block plot of land. You can try to follow actual in-game chunk edges as you build, but really, any 16*16 block-sized land will do. As long as you don’t go outside this boundary, of course.cnx.cmd.push(function(){cnx({"playerId":"e3616d04-4972-4839-a63a-c6975e2e9731","settings":{"advertising":{"macros":{"AD_UNIT":"/23178111854/od.kotaku.com/article","CHILD_UNIT":"article","POST_ID":"1601255069","POST_TYPE":"post","CHANNEL":"uncategorized","SECTION":"","SUBSECTION":"","CATEGORIES":"uncategorized","TAGS":"","NOP":"0"},"timeBeforeFirstAd":0}}}).render("cnx-player-main")}); Now, 16*16 blocks might seem limiting, but when you n98 actually start building, you’ll realize just how much space you actually have to work with. Quite a lot, as it turns out! Plenty of room for creativity. And the community has indeed been coming up with wildly different chunk houses. Up top is brickpanzer’s chunk house which, as you can see on the interior shot below, is a lot bigger than it looks. And here’s Spelunkding’s original chunk house: Timmystwin built a whole chunk fortress: And Fireninja312 built a whole chunk village: Here’s pp slot a rather fancy one from Stygma: And pp slot finally, tomatotrucks’ more utilitarian, medieval-style chunk house: There’s a lot more over at r/minecraft, so take a look there if you want. And if you end up building your own chunk house, make sure to share it in the comments below! Questions? Comments? Contact the author of this post at andras-AT-kotaku-DOT-com.

The progressive jackpots are thrilling, and it's exciting to watch the jackpot amounts grow as more players spin the reels. I hope they add even more jackpot slots because it adds a lot of excitement to the gameplay. I love the overall aesthetic of the platform. The animations, visual effects, and sound design make the gaming experience more dynamic and immersive. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back.
